Next Plant Sale Next Talk “Winter Wonderland” including a Christmas Quiz on Wednesday 26th November 7.45 pm John Negus who came last year and presented an excellent talk on Water Gardens (and provided a fun quiz) is coming back to tell us how we can make our gardens interesting during the “drab” winter months. John will convince us during the evening that the winter months can be bright and cheery. He will explain how different coloured barks and stems can provide a natural colour palette. By selecting plants that provide berries, seed heads, and different colours of foliage you will find out how to make your garden alive and cheerful during the winter. John is also going to challenge us with a short quiz......so bring your thinking caps! John is a renowned speaker on gardening topics. He trained at Wisley Gardens and Merrist Wood Horticultural Colleges. He is on the RHS list of speakers and regularly speaks at Gardening Clubs. He occasionally appears on Southern Counties Radio, and also contributes features and answers questions in Woman’s Weekly and Amateur Gardening. After the talk and the quiz there will be an opportunity to chat with fellow members and guests over a glass of wine, or a non alcoholic drink to celebrate the festive season. There will also be some nibbles for anyone feeling peckish! This evening should be very enjoyable with the school hall decorated for Christmas, John’s easy manner and the opportunity to socialise. So put the date in your diaries and we look forward to seeing you there. Dealing with Drought Did you miss the "Dealing with Drought" lecture? Why not read Geoff Ace's notes here.
